FAQ

Common Questions

Quick operational answers for technical and billing questions that come up most often during setup.

DNS & Connectivity

Nameservers vs CNAME
Nameservers control who manages your DNS records. A CNAME is a record within that manager. For Statuscode, you usually keep your current nameservers and only add a CNAME record.
Subdomain vs Root
We recommend using a subdomain like status.yourdomain.com. It's technically simpler to manage and avoids conflicts with your main website's root A/AAAA records.

Editor & Publishing

Why aren't my changes live?
The live status page reads from a Published Snapshot. Changes in the editor are saved as drafts until you click the Publish button in the top right.
SSL Provisioning
SSL certificates are generated automatically. This process can take 5-15 minutes after your DNS records are verified.

Billing & Plans

Plan Activation
Upgrades happen instantly. Downgrades are scheduled for your next billing date to ensure you get the full value of your current cycle.
